Programming
We are an organization dedicated to supporting the social mobility and creative ambitions of low-income, barrier-to-employment, immigrant, and refugee Clevelanders through our industrial sewing program. You are also contributing to a community resource that is a place for skill-sharing, education, art, and enterprise available to all people. Our mission is to empower individuals by providing them with the skills and resources they need to succeed in the sewing industry.

our programs
We offer a range of programs for use by the public, businesses, and workforce development partners. Our program areas are focused on education, employment, and environmental impact within the Rust Belt Fibershed ecosystem.
personal sewing basics
These evening classes are offered on select weekday evenings between 6:00p-8:30p for learning home sewing skills. Supplies and sewing machines are provided for your use in a course-long project of your choosing. Open to anyone and everyone!

community events & workshops
We host collaborations with textile professionals, artists, and educators in the local Cleveland and greater Rust Belt Fibershed communities who offer a range of educational opportunities around skill-sharing, community service, and cultural capital development. These workshops and events typically require payment to attend or operate on a sliding scale donation.

open sew
Two Saturdays a month, we host community sewing and project days open to the public. Attendees can bring their projects with them, such as personal sewing, crocheting, knitting, or other textile-related activities, to work on at Threads.
We are always looking for more people to join our team! We are currently looking for volunteers who have a passion for people, art, and textiles!
